Client: SOCAR Downstream
Contractor (EPC): HECOTEC MMC

Project Overview:
HECOTEC MMC is executing a comprehensive engineering survey, inspection, and mapping of the existing oily water and sewerage systems across the 169-hectare area of Heydər Aliyev Oil Refinery (NEZ). The project includes clearing blocked lines, precise mapping, and development of engineering solutions compliant with international standards. Several phases have already been successfully completed.

Key Project Activities:

  • Accurate topographic measurement and digital mapping of all existing oily water and sewerage pipelines (including diameter, material, condition, depth, flow directions, and invert levels).
  • High-precision location of illegal connections in underground pipelines.
  • Identification and removal of domestic sewerage lines entering the site from outside, with new project solutions developed.
  • Detection and inspection of existing pipelines using modern equipment (GPR, Transmitter probes, EM detectors, GPS (GNSS RTK), etc.), including internal video inspection with a boroscope, followed by detailed condition assessment reports.
  • Cleaning and restoration of blocked pipelines using jet & vacuum truck technology.
  • Designing a system for the separation of oily wastewater from domestic wastewater, including precise connection point determination to the main sewer collector of “Azersu” on 8 November Avenue.
  • Developing engineering solutions to prevent harmful gas emissions for environmental protection.

Outcome:
This project ensures effective wastewater management at HEYDƏR ALIYEV NEZ, enhances environmental safety, Sustainable management of carbon emissions and aligns the refinery’s infrastructure with international standards.
